L.A. BLUES

The movie opens in a Hollywood parking lot on New Years’ eve as a crowd gathers around an ambulance watching a guy being loaded in on a gurney. The story is told in flashback by one of the characters to a female detective who comes on the scene of what may have been an attempted suicide and he unravels the story of a year in the lives of 6 guys who hang out in a blues bar in Hollywood, watch sports, talk trash, and bitch about their lives, as they go through problems ranging from divorce to construction nightmares to gambling addiction, alcoholism, child custody fights, and all the headaches and heartaches men go through in the course of their lives. As the story unfolds, the audience is left wondering which one of these guys ended up in the ambulance, and why.

Written and directed by Ian Gurvitz, (Wings, Becker and the recently published “Hello, Lied the Agent, and other bullshit you hear as a Hollywood TV writer”) LA Blues is an independently made dramatic comedy, starring Anthony Michael Hall (The Breakfast Club; 16 Candles; The Dead Zone), Dave Foley (Kids in the Hall; Newsradio), Kevin Rahm (Judging Amy), Sean Maguire (The Class), William Ragsdale (American Pie; Brother’s Keeper; Grosse Point), Nicholas D’Agosto (Election), and featuring Dave Baez (Dexter) and Marsha Thomason (Las Vegas). Following in the tradition of Diner, Swingers, and Sideways, LA Blues is a story about guys and the way they communicate, through insults, trash talk and usually burying their true feelings but still, when needed, manage to be there for one another. As the narrator says, “Women share; guys bitch.”

9/TENTHS is a gripping story about the will to survive at whatever costs. They say any type of warfare is hell, including terrorist activity. You have everything, and before you know it, it gets taken away. How will you manage? As the tag line reads, "How far will you go to survive?" This is the premise of the film-the choices one makes, to survive.

Eddie Furlong dons the makeup in The Crow, Wicked Prayer, the fourth installment in The Crow, film series. This tale follows Jimmy Cuervo (Furlong), a down-on-his-luck ex-con living in a polluted mining town on an Indian reservation that would run him out of town if not for the remainder of his probation. With his time nearly finished, he plans to start a new life with his gorgeous girlfriend, Lily (Emmanuelle Chrique), and leave the dreaded town for good. Unluckily for them, Luc Crash (David Boreanaz) and Lola Byrne (Tara Reid) head up a gang of local Satanists who have another idea up their sleeve when they decide to murder the couple in a ritualistic slaying they hope will conjure the rebirth of the Antichrist. When the local Indian myth of the Crow reawakens Jimmy, he heads out on a one-man path of vengeance that will lead him to the highest Satanist himself, El Nino (Dennis Hopper). Also starring Danny Trejo, Dave Baez and Macy Grey. The film was directed by Lance Mungia of underground fave "The Six String Samurai".
