An inmate in an upstate penitentiary is accused of inciting a riot, beaten badly by prison guards, thrown into solitary confinement and disappears without a trace.  As the police conduct their manhunt and investigation, the inmates suspect the cops of murder and a cover up, while others take comfort in a mythical belief - historically linked to African slaves - that he gained his freedom by flying back to Africa.  Soil is about survival, friendship and love within the most extreme circumstances.

SOIL, Written by Charles E. Drew Jr. is currently being adapted for the screen by Dave Baez and Charles E. Drew Jr.
